The problem

The morning rush is the whole business.

A café lives or dies on throughput between 7am and 10am. Everything below is a minute you do not get back.

One queue for ordering and paying

When the same person takes the order and settles the payment, the counter becomes the bottleneck. Table ordering moves part of that queue off the counter entirely.

Modifiers that slow the till down

Oat, extra shot, half sweet, to stay or to go. Modifiers should be a tap, not a conversation repeated to the barista.

Drink tickets shouted down the counter

Orders that arrive on a screen in the order they were placed beat orders relayed verbally across a loud room.

Paying per terminal to add a second till

A second till in December should not mean a second monthly software fee for the whole year.

What Waitery does about it

Built for how cafés actually run.

Table ordering takes load off the counter

Guests who sit down scan the table code and order from their phone, so the counter queue is only the people who actually need the counter. The morning bottleneck gets shorter without adding staff.

Drink tickets on screen, in order

Every order lands on the espresso-bar display in sequence with its modifiers attached — no relaying, no re-asking, no drinks made twice.

Modifiers in one tap

Milk, shots, syrups and to-stay-or-go are set up once and tapped thereafter, so the till stops being the slowest part of the transaction.

No per-terminal software fee

$14 CAD per location per month. Add a second till for the holiday rush and your software bill does not change.

Bilingual EN/FR

Guests read and order in English or French on their own phone while your barista tickets and receipts run in whatever language your team prefers.

Pricing

$14 CAD per location, per month.

Free setup, no per-screen or per-terminal software fee, and hardware to buy or lease. Payment processing is separate, as it is everywhere.

  • One published price, no quote required
  • Setup and onboarding included

Questions

Straight answers.

What is the best POS system for a café in Canada?

It depends on your service model. If most of your revenue is counter service with some seating, look for a POS that does fast modifiers, sends drink tickets to a screen, and lets seated guests order from the table so they are not queueing at the counter. Waitery does all three at $14 CAD per location per month.

How much does a café POS cost per month?

Waitery is $14 CAD per location per month with free setup and no per-terminal software fee, so a second till costs nothing extra in software. Hardware is available to buy or lease, and payment processing is separate — as it is with every provider.

Can guests order from the table in a café?

Yes. Seated guests scan the QR code on the table and order in their phone's browser, which takes them out of the counter queue entirely. Nothing to download and no account required.

Does it handle drink modifiers?

Yes — milk choices, extra shots, syrups, and to-stay-or-to-go are configured once and applied in a tap, then travel with the order to the espresso-bar display so the barista sees them without asking.
