Square for Restaurants publishes three plans in CAD: Free at $0 per month, Plus at $60 per location per month and Premium at custom pricing (for restaurants with $250,000 or more in yearly card sales). Square also publishes its processing rates, which most vendors do not: 2.5% in person for all major credit cards, Interac debit 0.75% + 7¢, online 2.8% + 30¢ and manually keyed 3.3% + 15¢. The details worth reading are the per-device lines — $20 per KDS device per month on Free, and $40 per month for each added countertop POS device on Plus.

Square publishes more of its price list than any other vendor in this series. Here is where the plan price stops and the per-device and per-transaction lines start.
- Kitchen display: unlimited KDS devices on Plus; $20 per KDS device per month on Free.

Who Square for Restaurants fits
Square for Restaurants fits counter-service cafés and small restaurants that already take payments with Square, want a free entry tier, and are comfortable with Square's published processing rates rather than a negotiated one.
Two caveats to budget for: the Free plan's kitchen display costs $20 per KDS device per month, while Plus makes KDS devices unlimited but charges $40 per month for each countertop POS device beyond the first per location; and Premium pricing is custom and only for restaurants with $250,000 or more in yearly card sales.
