Moneris pricing in Canada (2026): POS and card fees

The Waitery TeamOctober 30, 20268 min read

Moneris publishes more of its price list than most Canadian processors, but it is spread across a product page, a pricing page and a launch release. Here it is in one place for restaurants: the monthly fee, the card rates, the hardware and the smaller fees. Prices checked October 30, 2026: moneris.com blocks automated reads and did so again that day, so every Moneris figure below is the one we read on moneris.com on September 19, 2026, with links to the pages it came from.

Moneris pricing at a glance

For restaurants, Moneris sells Moneris Go Restaurant: a POS app that runs on an iPad, paired with the Moneris Go payment terminal. When we read the product page on September 19, 2026, it was listed from $64.94 a month plus tax for the software and a Go Terminal together. If you already rent a Go Terminal, the software alone was $29.99 a month.

Card processing on that bundle was a flat 2.35% + $0.10 per credit card transaction and $0.12 per Interac debit transaction. An iPad is required. Optional hardware bundles were $499 or $999 one-time. Moneris was also advertising 50% off annual rental fees for a limited time, but the terms of that offer were not shown on the page.

Moneris aims Go Restaurant at single-location quick-service restaurants, bakeries and cafés. Its October 2025 launch release says full-service restaurants are supported through its partnership with TouchBistro, which is a separate product with separate pricing.

Moneris card processing rates

The Go Restaurant bundle has its own flat rate. On credit cards it is 0.30 percentage points lower than Moneris's standard flat rate for other card-present merchants; Interac is the same $0.12 on both.

Moneris also offers Simplified Pricing, an interchange-plus model priced by business type and total volume. Those rates are quoted, not printed. Fees are billed daily or monthly, and deposits arrive the next day through BMO and RBC.

  • Go Restaurant bundle, in person: 2.35% + $0.10 per credit card transaction; $0.12 per Interac debit transaction.
  • Standard flat rate, in person: 2.65% + $0.10 per credit card transaction; $0.12 per Interac debit transaction.
  • Standard flat rate, online or keyed: 2.85% + $0.30 per credit card transaction; $1.00 per Interac Online transaction.
  • Foreign cards: 0.80% on flat-rate pricing, up to 1.00% on Simplified Pricing.
  • Other fees listed on the pricing page: chargeback $25; authorization chargeback handling $80; Moneris Go software fee $5.00; minimum merchant discount rate $5.00; paper statement $2; aged close batch $2.50.

What is and isn't included

The monthly figure covers the POS software and the terminal. Several things a restaurant usually needs sit outside it, and a few terms are not printed at all.

  • iPad: required for the POS and the kitchen display app. Bring your own (9th generation or later) or buy one from Moneris for $499.99.
  • Kitchen display: the Moneris KDS app on an iPad, announced as a $9 a month add-on in the October 2025 launch release. The current product page does not print the figure.
  • Printers and cash drawer: in the optional $499 Starter or $999 Core bundle, or bought separately.
  • Online ordering: UEAT online ordering, commission-free on your own site, priced by quote.
  • Contract length and cancellation: not printed on the product page. Moneris links a separate Go Restaurant terms schedule; read it, or ask for the term and any early-termination fee in writing.
  • French and Quebec: a footnote on the product page says Go Restaurant POS is currently not available in Quebec or in the French language. Moneris customer support is bilingual.

Who Moneris fits

Moneris Go Restaurant fits a single-location café, bakery or counter-service restaurant outside Quebec that wants POS and processing from one Canadian, bank-owned company. Moneris is a joint venture created by RBC and BMO, it offers 24/7 bilingual support, and it runs its own national field-services team, which matters if you want a technician who can come to you.

It is a thinner fit for table service, since Moneris sends full-service restaurants to a partner POS, and for any restaurant that needs its POS in French. Budget for the iPad and the kitchen display add-on on top of the monthly bundle.

How Waitery compares

Waitery is a QR-first restaurant POS from Mississauga, Ontario, built for table service as well as the counter. Guests order from a table QR code with no app, servers take orders and payments on handhelds, and the kitchen display is included with no per-screen fee. The guest menu, kitchen and receipts work in English and French.

Pricing is one plan at $14 CAD per location per month, published, with free setup and no iPad requirement. Hardware is Waitery's own, shipped Canada-wide to buy outright or lease over 48 months. Processing rates are quoted per restaurant, so bring your Moneris statement to the demo and compare the two line by line.
